About us

Potijk Custom Upholstery & Insulation is your partner in acoustics, automotive and upholstery. Craftsmanship and series production. Twente sobriety and innovation. These are the combinations that summarize the strength of Potijk. We see the market, listen to the client, find the right partners, devise solutions and offer them: in series and customized.

Our history

Potijk Custom Upholstery & Insulation, formerly Potijk Bekleding & Acoustics, was founded in 1965 by Willem Potijk. Years later, son Leo Potijk took over, and now Bart Potijk is at the helm. A real family business with attention for each other and for our clients.

Due to Potijk’s growth, our old premises became too small in 2016. So in August 2016, we increased our capacity with a move to Einsteinstraat 6, on the Bornsestraat industrial estate in Almelo. This allows us to serve more customers and, thanks to our larger machine park, produce series even more efficiently.

Eye for sustainability

Sustainability is a high priority at Potijk. We attach great importance to dealing consciously with our environment and are happy to contribute to a greener future. Are you visiting us with an electric car? On our premises you will find two charging stations where you can recharge your car during your visit. In addition, our entire premises are fitted with energy-efficient LED lighting, which significantly reduces our energy consumption.

We also consider the environment when packaging our products. We use sustainable packaging materials and reuse packaging wherever possible to reduce waste. Any waste that does arise is carefully separated and recycled to minimise waste.

Craftsmanship and serial production

We have our own trained staff. Because of this, we know that everyone has the right knowledge and skills. Since we work with modern machinery, this is important. Innovation and new techniques are therefore paramount for us. This machinery is used to make both small and larger productions with a very large degree of variation. Our machines are easy to adjust to size, allowing us to deliver very specific products relatively quickly. And all of this meticulously tailored to the customer’s demand. Thus, as a customer, you always know what to expect from the final product. All our business processes are carried out digitally via our ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system. This way, all important information is stored, for the best result.

Our solutions

We offer customized solutions for acoustics, automotive and upholstery. For every problem we find a solution. We do this by listening, talking and thinking with the customer. We supply customized products such as covers, thermal and acoustic insulation materials and upholster chairs and couches. In series and made to measure. Based on your wishes and needs.

Our way of working

When we get started on a project, we follow a standard procedure. No step is skipped, in order to achieve the best final product.

Step 1: Getting in touch

The client contacts us and the first conversation takes place. In it we go into detail about the problem. We ask questions and you can ask your questions.

Step 2: Coming up with the solution

Based on in-depth discussions, we devise the most appropriate solution together. We then present our best ideas to the client.

Step 3: Creating a sample model

Once the solution is chosen, a trial model is made based on supplied drawings. This rough product is then presented to the customer. If necessary, the concept is continuously adjusted until the desired end product is created.

Step 4: Potijk gets to work

After receiving the order confirmation and approval, we set everything up for production. Drawings and product (sections) are delivered and we can get to work in our own modern machine hall. All information is noted in our ERP system and packaging and transport is discussed with the customer.

Step 5: Delivery

Once the products are produced, they are packed as desired. This can even be done per set. We then deliver the products to you according to the agreed time schedule.

Who do we work for?

Over the years, we have developed as a strong partner in various industries. Many of our clients for acoustics are cabin builders, but we also work for vehicle conversions, interior designers and hotel chains, among others.
